Our Consultant Select treatment pathway uses an intelligent consultant ranking tool that means your clients will see a consultant who has a track record of excellent treatment outcomes and robust clinical practice.
Good treatment outcomes lead to lower long-term claims costs, which means we can charge a lower premium without compromising on quality.
Why choose Consultant Select?
Quick and straightforward process from referral to consultation
Your clients will be supported in finding an appropriate consultant by our Member Care team, rather than having to find a consultant themselves. They will be offered an appointment within 10 days (in most instances, this will be much faster).

Our intelligent consultant ranking tool means that your clients will see consultants who have a track record of excellent treatment outcomes, robust clinical practice, and are the most efficient. Preferred consultants demonstrate better outcomes in terms of members needing to change consultant, re-admissions, length of stay, and customer satisfaction.
Comprehensive network of consultants
Our consultant network provides coverage across all regions, specialties and hospitals. No member will have to travel more than 40 minutes for a consultation.

With Consultant Select, your client’s premium will be lower than if they choose a hospital list, without compromising on quality.
Peace of mind
With the Vitality Patient Charter, your clients have the right to change to another preferred consultant if they’re not happy. We’ll also help elevate any serious clinical concerns.
How it works.
We'll also cover follow-up consultations within 28 days without affecting their Out-patient Cover limit, if they have Out-patient Cover on their plan.

The Vitality Patient Charter
- The chosen consultant has been quality-assured and is highly rated using our intelligent consultant ranking tool.
- Your client will have the right to switch to another approved consultant if they are not happy with the original named consultant – this will have no negative impact on their benefit limits.
- Our Member Care team will help your client find the right consultant for them quickly and conveniently. No member will wait longer than 10 days, or travel more than 40 minutes (and much shorter in most instances) for a consultation.
- If their condition is deemed high risk, our Urgent Care Pathway will ensure that they are seen as quickly as is clinically necessary. High risk conditions, such as potential cancer cases, are defined by the VitalityHealth Clinical Operations team.
- We will support your client in investigating and where appropriate escalating any clinical concerns.
